8/15-17/08 “Cave Days’’…
The other day we were looking at our bills that are past due and some threatening to shut off and since the gas was already off I said, “O great, we‘re gunna have no gas, no electric, no water, no car we‘re gunna be living in the the… th Cave days’’…… It was really funny because I was being overly dramatic about it. Kenny thought it was really funny so he told his mom the next day on their way to work, so when I called Kenny later that day she asked me how living in the cave days was, they were in Linda’s car. lol
Don’t worry anyone we are doing ok, we just have to catch up on some bills we had while Kenny wasn’t working. Now that Kenny is working again we are doing fine and are planning on paying our rent a few months at a time so we can put money away for some of our goals. That’s how we used to do it, and we had a lot more spending money. I am really excited to have him working again, he is too although he is not totally enjoying it, he says it is like a “fake collections office” because of the system, and the way you have to collect payments. At all the other places you could say, ok pay your bill 3 mos. In advance and then you don’t have to worry about it (or whatever he says), but here you can’t do that, the system won’t allow you to put future payments in, so they have to call every mos. to make the payment. He can’t even do it one day in advance. I think that is stupid…and so does he. I think other than that he is liking it there. I know we are both thankful for it since when Linda originally told her boss about Kenny he said no because they were family and they don’t hire family members.
We are still praying for this job at University of Phoenix, they told him it would be about a week to ten days and it has been almost 2 wks. Kenny said he talked to his friend that works there and he told him it usually takes this long and not to worry, but he’ll ask around and try to see what the verdict is. I would be soo excited if he got this position it would be such a relieve, he would be making so much money, we would be able to save for our goals a lot quicker! Plus it would be a different pace for Kenny, he would be working with numbers and people that want to do something, instead of making them pay their bills, so it would be a lot of fun for him. A much more positive atmosphere, which would be good for him. I guess there are two people from our ward that work there.
The only problem I see with this job is it is in phoenix and our car is broken, so we have to come up with the money to get that looked at and fixed. We have no ides what is wrong with the thing… We’ll find out I guess
Well I am still liking my calling in primary, I really enjoy what the have to say, they are soo smart. Of course there are a few who I have to pay close attention too (for different reasons) but I love their little spirits. One little girl is soo shy she doesn’t really want to participate unless it is something the class is doing as a whole. I have another little girl who doesn’t want to stop talking. Last Sunday I had everyone tell how they “shined their light” the past week (does anyone know what that lesson was about), when it was her turn she started with, “The story starts with….” , and then did NOT want to end it. I even brought her up by me and explained that she needed to let the other kids tell their story, she just said, “well my sister…” I couldn’t believe it!! She is definitely a hand full. : )
I told the kids if they were good during opening exercises I would give them a prize, and 2 wks ago I did, but last week I couldn’t afford it. They were disappointed but I told them I wouldn’t be able to get one for them every Sunday so they just had to be good all the time just incase I was able to get them something. I think that will work IDK I guess I’ll find out this Sunday. I just went to the dollar store but they loved the prizes so I was happy.
Ok I am getting sleepy and mistyping everything now soo I am going to go to bed. I love you all… Mer and Kenny.
08/19-23/08 Game Day
We had the opportunity to go to the Diamond Backs Game. Kenny’s brother’s girlfriend got them for free but then couldn’t go, so she asked if we were interested!! It was so much fun. I haven’t been to a baseball game since I was in 5th (or 6th) grade, when I went with Hailey. I think you guys (Crystal, Jade, mom)
remember her.
The game was really good, since I didn’t know much about it Kenny had to tell me what was going on. They had a good game, they got 4 points in the 1st inning, I guess that’s quit a bit in baseball. We saw Adam Dunn make his 1st home run as a Diamond Back player, it was cool to see!! There were a couple other cool plays but I don’t remember what they were. We had great seats, we were about half way up and on the side of the dugout. We bought ice cream that was too much but really good. After we ate it we both agreed we should have gottin something “real” to eat. I had my eye on a ball park hot dog forever but then when the time came I got ice cream lol. O well, I’ll get one next time.
It was a fun date and we enjoyed ourselves. I had been looking forward to it for a while. Even though it was a good game and we were enjoying ourselves we decided we should go ½ way through the game. It started at 6:00 and it took 2 hours just to get ½ way through. Since we had to work in the morning we didn’t want to stay till 10:00 to watch the whole thing. I am glad we went.
Kenny was talking about getting season tickets to arena football, I guess there cheaper than NFL tickets and a faster pace/higher scoring game. I enjoy football so I think I would like to watch arena football. Plus it’s a good date night. We’ll see what happens.
Well, my visiting teaching partner’s husband came over today to look at the car, he said there were a few things wrong with it. He wasn’t sure he could help so he recommended a guy he knows. So again, we’ll see what happens.
I can’t believe Kimberly is married now, it has only been a few hours now but still!! Congrats cuz!! I am so sorry Kenny and I couldn’t be there to celebrate with you. I talked to grandma and she said it was a beautiful ceremony, and you were a beautiful bride. I hope I get some photos!! Thanks for the invitation!! I send you my love and our best wishes, CONGRATS!!
Thursday and Friday was my 1st time visit teaching! I really enjoyed it, I have a great partner. She has done this before so that helps a lot. One of the ladies we visit is a new sister in the ward, she seems really nice. Her boyfriend and her have 2 kids, she is trying to get him more involved in the church and slowing but surely she is. He went with her one time and said he would go again so… I told her I know what she is going through and if she needs my support or help I would be there. She lives 2 houses away from me. The other lady and her family are active and involved in church callings and activities. She has 3 kids and a new baby. I really like her, she is the primary secretary. She helps me a lot!
I am liking my calling and being a visit teacher, it gives me something to do and look forward to. It makes me feel important and like I am actually doing something useful, meaningful. I like it.
I will get back to you when more happens, next week one of our drug reps from work is taking Lori and I to Cheesecake Factory, so I’ll let you know how that goes. And Kenny’s birthday is on the 30th!! He will be 24. Wow that seems so old to us, I can’t believe it, I remember dreaming to be 16 so I could drive!! Anyways, I love you all talk to ya later.
08/26-31/2008 Cheesecake Factory Flop
We planed this dinner with one of our drug reps. a month in advance and it was still a bad day to do it. Lori wasn’t feeling well and I found out it was Helen’s (Kenny’s grandma) birthday. So we canceled. O well.
We still got to go out though, I guess for March Madness, another drug rep, had a contest, and our office won 1st, 2nd and 5th place. My manager won 1st which was tickets to the Diamondbacks game, the phlebotomist in our office won 2nd which was an office party, and Dr. Fowler won 5th place, but I don’ know what the prize was.
Since Lori’s last day was Friday, Gary (the phlebotomist) decided to use his office party prize for her going away party. We went to Applebee’s for drinks and appetizers. It was really fun! We only ordered a few appetizers but got like 6 more because the servers got the tables around us mixed up with ours, so we got all theirs too. We were happy but the other tables weren’t so pleased. So Lori and I took all the left over’s home, no one else wanted to take them soo
Now that Lori is gone I am going to be the only M.A in the office!! I am both excited and terrified at the same time. I like that I’ll be able to do things my way, but I’m scared that I don’t know what I’m doing enough to be alone. I know I just need to ask questions and have confidence in myself, that’s the hard part. I am constantly second guessing myself, and am usually right the first time. Plus I am getting thrown into a drug study that I don’t know a whole lot about. It’s not as involved as it used to be now though since the patient got cancer (not study related) and can’t take the drug being studied. Now all that’s left is blood draws, which I like to do, and a ton of paperwork, everyday that has a certain place to be filed in one of the 15 binders involved. O well, I guess I’ll get used to it. It will be a big plus to have on my resume. : )
The best thing that has happened all week was Kenny’s Birthday yesterday 08/30/08. He turned 24 this year. I told him the other day, “haha your closer to 30 than I am.” He didn’t like that too much. : ) I thought it was pretty funny though. Hehe. I am soo glad he got to enjoy himself, we didn’t do anything real big at all but at the end of the day it was pretty eventful. I made him two breakfast burritos, that were really good by the way. My Visiting Teacher and his Home Teacher came over (they’re married) to wish him a happy birthday with a plate of chocolate mint brownies, which were really good too.
My Visiting Teacher, Kristina stayed for about an hour and ½ just visiting and getting to know each other, she was just assigned to me. Her husband Richard, who Kenny already knew, had to leave right away for work, he’s an EMT. Since he works crazy hours and is sometimes gone 3-4 days out of the week, we don’t see him at church a lot, so it was nice he came over for a second to wish Kenny a happy birthday.
Kristina told us Richard was going to be gone a couple days and she usually has leftovers or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner, so I invited her over for a Sunday dinner. I am excited to have someone over.
Later that day I had Linda, Dougie, Chey and Bobby over for Kenny’s favorite dish I make, a creamy chicken casserole with broccoli. Everyone really liked it, yea! After dinner Dougie and Chey took us out to a movie, it was funny but I shouldn’t have watched it (it was rated R). So all in all it was a pretty good birthday, he said he didn’t want anything more.
OOO! One more really great thing that happened this week was Kenny got the job he has been waiting for; the one at University of Phoenix! He will be an Enrollment Councilor. He starts 9/9/08. We are both really excited for his new start. I really believe this is going to be great for him, this is a MUCH better atmosphere as far as who he is dealing with, and working with, he will be able to (I think) stay in a good mood and enjoy himself at work, which will be very nice. He will be making almost $6 more than he was at this place with his mom. That in itself is a major blessing. We will be able to get caught up and have a little more spending/playing money! YEA!
09/01-03/08 Labor Day…River Day
So Labor Day was really fun… We went to the Salt River with Dougie, Chey, and Terry. Everyone decided it would be the most fun to go on the 5 hour run, so
that’s what we did. Although we all enjoyed ourselves Chey and I were ready to get off the water in between exit 4 and 5. I was ready because I started not feeling well, plus I was in pain; We came to a place that was very narrow with rapids, my tube flipped and I smashed my spine on a rock, which gave me a nice bruise and a cut, not very deep but very painful. Kenny got a scratch on his arm, also not very deep, but it was long, and luckily not painful. Chey was getting heat stroke I think, she decided it would be ok if she only put sun block on her face, so needless to say she fried! Plus she was not drinking enough water.
I used a lot of sun screen and still got a sunburn, of course I always do. At least this one wasn’t as bad as the other ones. Hopefully I will keep the tan, hehe.
Ok … My first day by myself (09/02/08) was crazy, they said I did good though. I didn’t have a full schedule so I was able to stay on track pretty easily. The second day by myself I had a little bit fuller schedule, I still did well though! I was still able to keep on track and keep Dr. Fowler on time. It was harder and a little bit more hectic but kinda fun. I really like having my own space, it actually makes things less stressful. I keep my desk a lot less cluttered, which really helps too. I am still going to change some things when I get the time and the right equipment to do it.
I am anxious for tomorrow, my third day by myself, because the schedule is completely full!! These are the days it is hard to stay on schedule with 2 people, so we’ll see how I do. I am pretty confident I can do it. I will let you know how it goes!
I guess there isn’t that much to announce yet. I will write when there is. Love you all!!
09/04/08 Everyone’s Leaving!!!
My manager (Sandy) just told me that she is quitting, she found a job that will pay more in the same position. She told me she feels really bad about it because Lori just left, so the timing really sucks for Dr. Fowler, but she has to do what is best for her.
I am both excited for her and hate to see her leave. This makes me wonder if they told her she couldn‘t get a raise, because if that’s the case I highly doubt they’ll give me one. I don’t know what to think about this place anymore. I really don’t want to have to relearn how the office is run. Kenny told me to tell who ever they hire to learn how I’ve been doing things, I think I will because that’s only fair and should be expected. Well I have to go, talk to you soon, love ya’ll.
09/08-11/08 She’s not leaving!!!!
I am soo excited she’s going to stay! I guess she decided it wasn’t worth it to leave, the other place wasn’t going to pay her much better, plus she was feeling really guilty about leaving. She has worked for Dr. Fowler for about 2 years and they are pretty close.
She’s a good manager, I didn’t want to see her leave. And now I don’t have to learn anyone else’s little quirks. I have just gotten to understand hers.
The only thing that I am going to have to get used to is a new M.A., when they eventually hire someone. I do need the help but I am liking the space and how I have things set up at my desk (because we would have to share a desk). O well I guess I have to take the good with the bad. It would be nice to have someone there.
We rescheduled the Cheesecake Factory meeting, it was fun. I ordered the dinner special and an expensive cheesecake, and OMGosh was it good!! I was really excited that I could order whatever I wanted; I asked if there was a limit and she said she was allowed to spend a $100.00 per person! So I went all out. The dinner special was Mahi Mahi Mediterranean style, mmmmmmm. I wish you could just smell it!! It was the best Mahi I have ever had, so good. The cheesecake I ordered was the anniversary cake, which they had been perfecting for 30 years or how ever long they’ve been around. I was even allowed to order Kenny a cake, I got him a Snickers one. I had left over fish so he got to have that too.
The dinner was so she (a drug rep.) could show me her glucose meters. It was pretty interesting to see how they work, and how they are different from the others on the market. I was glad it was interesting. I guess I would have still enjoyed myself because of the food.
Ok so we got a call from the guy fixing our car and evidently he fixed the problem, the water pump, but when he went to start it the dumb thing still wouldn’t start!! He looked in the engine and saw the head gasket was blown!! So we‘re still going to spend $1500, even with Mike (a friends friend from church) fixing it.
The really good thing is if we went to a shop we would have paid that just for the water pump, because of the make and model. A couple places Kenny called would not even do it because of the make and model! So it is a huge blessing we have him working on it. We didn’t quit see it that way when we first got the news because we are just now getting Kenny’s big checks and we have to spend it on the car, which puts us back a bit on what we had planned for it. It’s a good thing we have the money this time though!!
So it has been 3 full weeks by myself, I have been doing really well. I asked for a raise so we’ll see if I get it my next paycheck. The general manager asked my manger if she thought I deserved one, and of course she told her I did, so we’ll see. I will be pretty upset if I don’t get it because I work really hard. My manager and the Dr. have told me.
They confirmed that I am expected to take over the treat study, I will have my first appointment with him Monday the 22. I am both excited and real nervous, I have never been involved in any kind of study and have no idea what to expect. Lori told me it isn’t too big of a deal but there is a lot that has to be done. The study coordinator said she will help me with any questions I have, so at least I will have the help I need. My manager has very little involvement in it and what she does know is blind to me and visa versa. I’ll let you know how my first visit goes.
09/16/08 Another Game Day
It was about 20 min before the end of the day when Dr. Fowler asked me if I wanted to go to a Diamond Backs game that night! I guess he wasn’t able to go so he asked if Kenny and I wanted to! Wow huh! But unfortunately when I got home I found out that Kenny wasn’t feeling well. So I asked if Kristina wanted to go with me. We went and had a good time.
When we got there it was already in the 3rd inning and it was 0 to 0. Right when we sat down they got a home run, it was pretty exciting. The guy next to us was like, “nice of you to join us.” We thought that was funny.
Our seats were amazing, we were on the second tier looking right at the pitcher’s mound! We had to go up an escalator to get to them, when we went through the doors there was an usher to guide us to our seats. I felt like I was top notch, it was fun. Last time when I went with Kenny we looked up at the cables that the birds were on, here we were level with them!
I had my first official Ball Park Hotdog, I didn’t get all the fun toppings on it like I when Kenny and I went but it was still pretty good. I think what I saw last time was a brot because it was huge; I have to get one of those, they look soo good. If your going to spend the money you gatta go all out, we did get cheese fries though!
Kristina and I decided to stay for the whole game, it was a good thing too because we would have missed the 2nd home run. They would have won with the 1st one because the other team didn’t even score. So ending score 2-0.
9/23/2008 OUCH! KENNY!!
3rd degree AC separation (acromioclavicular) formally known as a separated shoulder. The P.A. told us he ruptured his disc separating the clavicle. He has to see a specialist to determine if surgery is necessary or just physical therapy. They said surgery was most likely not going to happen but only the specialist could say.
The next day I asked Sandy who to go to, since we refer out a lot for things like this. She gave me a Dr.’s name and called them to see if they would give me some sort of discount since I work there and we use them all the time. They said they could help but it would still be $190 down, which includes an x-ray.
Of course Kenny wouldn’t go, I could have had an appt. for him that day. He felt it wasn’t necessary, and too much money. He still has 2 wks to get in before it starts re-growing. I guess we’ll see what happens. He has some pain killers so that helps him, sort of. Men…(maybe just Kenny) : )
09/27/2008 Relief Society Lunch in
This was the first R.S. meeting I have attended, I had an amazing experience. Kristina and Natalie (the ward missionary, who was at Kenny’s baptism) picked me up. We met up with Natalie’s sisters, mom and grandma. The food was great, just little sandwiches and salads and yummy desserts. The stake made quillos for needy kids to cuddle up and read with, they were all on display and they also had a sign up booth to read with kids at an elementary school. Along with the quillo’s were pictures in a slideshow of everyone who helped make them, it was pretty neat.
I enjoyed the company and the atmosphere. I love church get togethers now. Who’da thunk it. I wish I would have thought to bring a journal though, because now I don’t remember all the talks. I do remember feeling inspired to be a better example of an LDS woman. It made me want to try harder to get a hold of the people I visit teach. I really admired the first lady who spoke, I can’t remember her, or anyone’s name for that matter, she caught and kept my attention. I thoroughly admired her talk; I liked how she used personal stories. I would love to see how you guys felt about this conference!
09/28/2008 Primary Performance Rehearsal
The whole primary is going to be performing in a couple weeks so today we rehearsed, it was so cute! Some kids have speaking parts and all of them sing; I even have to sing. We have been practicing these songs for about a month. In my opinion they have it down, it is going to be soo good.
Our Primary Presidents made them a deal, if they practiced all the songs and did well during rehearsals they could have an ice cream party. Of course the kids loved that idea! They have some cute ideas to get these kids into things, they do it well to. I am excited to see how well it turns out, I’ll let you know.
09/30/2008 OK get it done already!!
Kenny called the guy fixing our car to see if he got it out of the machinists shop yet, since we were supposed to pay him to get it out. He tells us that he hasn’t even put it in, and it will take about a week to do when he gets it out. AAAHH, This was the week it was supposed to be being worked on.
So Kenny called around to see if someone else could get it done sooner. He found that it could be done sooner but not at all cheaper, lowest was 17, highest was 2,300! I figured the guy knows this and is taking his sweet time. I also found out that he isn’t some one from the ward, he is someone a friend from the ward goes to with his cars.
We just want this mess to be over with already. We have other things to spend our money on. O well, We are still grateful, it is still a blessing.
10/01/2008 Job Status: Mine and Kenny’s
Kenny is still loving his job and is excited to go everyday. As soon as we get this car fixed he will like his job a whole lot more since he wont have to get up so early to catch a ride. Right now he is waking up at 4:00 leaving at 4:30 a.m.. At least now he can get dressed by himself, it was really hard when he first hurt his shoulder.
He is doing really well, I don’t think he has completely enrolled some one yet be he has a few he is working on. Like this one guy he’s talking to has a lot of ambition and seems eager to start. He was willing to wait at a library (for internet access) until Kenny could call him back, of course Kenny told him to just call him when he got there but that shows dedication.
There’s quit a few things Kenny is happy with here, he can talk on his cell phone at his desk, he isn’t rushed to get off the phone with potential students, he can take an hour or more lunch as long as his numbers are up (which he rarely does because he wants to stay on the phone), he has a ginormous desk and a lot of leg/arm space, he likes his co-workers and management, though he did say his manager was getting on his nerves the other day. I am soo glad he found this job, it was a blessing in so many ways. We are able to go to school with discount prices, him free me 80% off! So we are planning on going back. I don’t know what I want to go back for yet, I don’t think he does either. We have enough time to think about it still.
My job is still the same as far as me being the only M.A.. I don’t know if I mentioned it before but we had to get another phlebotomist because Senora Quest pulled the lab, so we were without one for about 2 weeks. Now we have Lab Corp coming in on Friday ready to draw Monday. I am so excited to have a phleb. Again, I don’t like hearing people complaining about the inconvenience, I know, trust me I know how inconvenient it is!
The lady coming in was there before with a different company so she already knows most the patients and how the office runs, which is a huge plus. I am excited to meet her, Sandy talks good about her.
I still haven’t heard about my raise yet, so I was curious to see what I got, because I got paid today. Well guess what I got a $20.00 check, total! It looks like I only got paid for my overtime because where it says hourly it says $0.00! How crazy is that? I couldn’t believe it! I’m glad I get paid decent overtime but I would prefer my hourly included in that! I guess I shouldn’t ask for a raise huh, that’s what I get?!
I really hate how they mess with my checks like this, I really like working for him, I enjoy the patients too. They’re all making sure I’m not going any where because I guess a lot of M.A.’s have come and gone. Hmmm?
It may be time for me to start looking else where, now that we’re stable with Kenny’s new job. I would hate to leave but at the same time I think it may be for the best. I would wait until he hires some one, which won’t be until after Nov.
I am tired of talking about my job now…
10/02/2008 Good Job Terry, Go BOBCATS!!
So the first game Kenny and I had to miss, on account of Kenny’s arm, his high school football team wins. We felt bad we missed. I don’t even remember the score, oops. O well, GO BOBCATS!!
10/4-5/2008 “Trash Room”/Conference
Early Saturday morning Kristina, Richard and I went to the dog park to get out and enjoy the weather. We had a blast, mainly Dee-Bo and I. I loved all the other types of dogs there, it was fun to watch them all play with each other. OMGosh it was soo funny, there were 2 beautiful and huge, Great Danes, Dee-Bo thought he would politely show them who was boss. He runs up to him and barks up at him! This dog looks down and blows out this deep roar of a bark putting Dee-Bo right back in his place. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. So then Dee-Bo starts walking around and under him, with ease, to kind of gain some dignity back, I think he realized just how big these dogs really are.
Kristina and Richard’s dog gets along well with Dee-Bo ever since she stayed at our house one night, which is another reason we went to the park. We thought it would be fun for them to play together, they didn’t even care about each other when they saw all the other dogs to play with. O well they had fun anyways.
So when I get home in the afternoon I take about an hour nap, during this time Bobby comes over. He goes in his play room we have set up for him and finds a red vines container I put in there thinking he could put toys or whatever in it. When he sees it he takes it to Kenny and says, “what is this doing in my room, my room is not the trash room!” Kenny cracks up and tells it I had gotten it for him to put stuff in then he got excited about it. Kenny points out to him that it has a lid so things don’t come out of it. So what does he do, he puts water in it, and says “yea huh this will come out.”
So that was the story I got when woke up. I thought it was soo cute! He is really particular about that room because it’s all his, he likes to keep his area clean. He’ll bring toys over from his house to play with and posters from school to hang upon the walls. He was soo thrilled to have his own room at our house when we first got this house.
How many of you enjoyed conference as much as I did!? I really enjoyed it this time. I guess you get more out of it when you pay attention. I got to watch it with a few people too, I watched some of it with Kenny, Kristina and Dan and Sherri. It was fun and revitalizing. I can’t quote anything that made it that way but I remember feeling so. I guess I’ll have to read it in the enzyne, then I’ll be able to quote and remember the names.
10/11/2008 Cooke Update
So I still have not heard about my check being fixed! The lady who writes the checks lives in California (and is the Dr.’s wife) so I faxed over my pay stub and e-mailed her asking when I could expect my check. I didn’t hear anything from her so I wrote her a letter asking her the same thing and faxed it to her since Sandy said she most likely checks her faxes more often than her e-mails.
Wednesday comes and she e-mails Sandy asking her what I meant by fixing my check!! I couldn’t believe it, I faxed over the stub which has all the information you need. Then Sandy tells me well you weren’t very specific in you letter or e-mails, so maybe you should re write it telling her what happened! UUH HELLOOO PEOPLE I DID NOT GET PAID, FIX IT! I took Sandy’s advise and told her I only got paid for my overtime because the hourly wage said $0.00. I wait until the end of the day to get a response and…nothing. Sandy said she would ask her what was going on, so hopefully I will be getting better answer on Monday.
So now it has been 2 weeks and a new paycheck is due Wednesday. How much do you want to bet I don’t get my money until then. I really wonder about this place. I must enjoy working my butt off for free because I keep doing it.
Our car is still not done.
Kenny’s shoulder is still hurting since he wont go to a specialist. He did try once but his ride was late leaving from work so he missed the appointment. He gets off on time Tuesdays but that’s the day the Dr sets aside for surgeries. I recommended he go see a different Dr than the one I originally set up, but…
He said it was getting better and he was able to move it more, so he wasn’t to worried about it any more. I said okaay but if it isn’t healing right your shoulder will always hurt you. So what happens, a couple days later his shoulder is hurting him all day, he can’t move it as far. What do you do??
Well on a different note, we went shopping for Dee-Bo today getting him good food, so he will get back to his normal self again, cheap food takes all his energy and makes him melancholy. His coat also dulls down as well as his teeth getting excess build up. Anyway, We got him small treats and a ginormus bone! We think it is a calf bone or something, it’s huge. He loves that thing, it was really cute watching him with it. I guess a piece of it wasn’t coming off as he wanted it too because all of a sudden we hear him bark at it, Kenny was rolling, he thought that was the funniest thing ever.
Seeing how it is 1:13 a.m. I should go to bed. O our Primary Program is 10/26, I’ll let you know how it goes, I am so excited about it, they are soo cute!
Love ya’ll, MerBer.
10/19/2008 Just a little update
I finally got my check! Since Sandy wrote it they couldn’t take out the taxes, so I got $800 instead of $730! The amount of money I got was cool, but I wonder if they’ll put it on my w2’s or not? I better not get screwed on that deal too. I’ll have to ask Sandy tomorrow, see if she’ll know or tell me.
The newest bump in the road is our new phlebotomist, she is very annoying. I think she is testing my limits. She used to work there 2 years ago so she thinks she knows how the office runs. I feel she came in too comfortable. She and I will have some things too work out I guess. It is good to have a phleb. in the office again though. My patients are happy again which makes my job a lot easier.
Well we got news on the car! The guy said the head (the head gasket blew) is in the shop being re-machined, when that parts fixed it will take him about a week to put back together. We should have our car Friday, should have. We should also have our cable/internet by then too! So you guys will be reading my whole story in one entry. Sorry it’s so long, I just didn’t want to miss anything. And I would never remember all of this.
Next week is the Primary Program! I wish I could record it somehow so you guys could see it. We had our last practice today, they did so good. Of course they were more rambunctious than they’ll be during the real thing because there parents weren’t there watching, but all in all they did great. After this they have the ice cream party! We are all excited about that.
So Halloween is 2 weeks away, isn’t that nuts! This year has flown by. James is one years old, Kenny and I have been married a year, Kenny has been a member of the church a year! Can you believe it! Anyways, Has anyone decided on what to be for Halloween, We haven’t yet. I don’t think Kenny will dress up but I want to do a couples costume I think that would be so cute. I have always wanted to do that.
Well I have to go to bed, this week kicked my butt. Goodnight love ya’ll, see ya soon.
Thanks for reading ,
I love you and will be seeing you Christmas!

Amber,
Glad you're back in service. We missed you! Thanks for your comments. I've only read the first day of your post because it's late, I want to read the rest later. Times are so tough and hoping all is well. Glad to hear Kenny is working hard even if he's not super happy with his job. Hopefully the other job will pan out, if it's meant to be. Wishing the best for you both!
I'll bet you're a great primary teacher. What age do you teach? Don't feel bad about the treats, rewards don't have to be monetary. A hug, high five, star student, first choice for ..., get to say prayer, help you return things to library, etc. can be just as effective. I'll bet the kids love you!
Thanks Di!
Once you get through a couple more days you will see how it all turned out!
I teach 6's, I love it, they are soo great and humbling. I love their sweet spirits. Thanks for your coments as well!
Yay! I'm glad to hear everything is working out! (Sorry I wasn't able to read until just now; I have been so darn busy lately!)
You really surprise me; for the best! The first thing I see when your page loads is the picture of Christ. A year and a hal ago that would have been nowhere near anything involving you! You are so strong. I love hearing how you have embraced the Church; and I love to see how your and Kenny's lives have been blessed by it.
I am glad Kenny is liking his job! It is good to be somewhere you enjoy going; seeing as how you have to go every day! It is always good to bring in a good amount of money; especially in this economy!
I am glad you got the internet again! It will be so much easier to keep in touch! I have time to check emails and such but hardly any time to talk on the phone (when I'm not doing hair or landscaping with Devin I am working for Quinn, which is on the computer..)
I love you and I just want to thank you for being an inspiration to me. I never thought I'd be looking up to you as an example of an "elect lady" of the Gospel. It is refreshing and awesome!
Have a great day!
